RS1 has been fined $5000 due to its drivers not attending Saturday evening’s podium ceremony for the Pirelli GT4 America Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of The Americas. (Above: File Photo from Sonoma).
The No. 028 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Spencer Pumpelly and Luca Mars was initially classified second in the Silver class, before being promoted to the class win following a post-race penalty for the No. 51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Kevin Boehm, who made contact with Pumpelly while battling for the overall lead in the final ten minutes of the race.
Pumpelly’s RS1 Porsche sustained damage from the incident, which race control declared would be reviewed post-race. However, the penalty to Boehm’s car was not issued until after the podium ceremony.
Per a stewards decision issued late on Saturday: “Article 46.1 of the 2026 GT4 America sporting regulations provides that, where at least three cars are entered in a category, the drivers finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd must attend the prize-giving ceremony on the podium and abide by the podium protocol determined by the organizer.
“The drivers of car No. 028, Luca Mars and Spencer Pumpelly, did not attend the podium ceremony following the race.
“The organizer requested the attendance of the drivers of car No. 028 at the podium ceremony. The drivers failed to present themselves.
“Pursuant to Article 46.5 of the 2026 GT4 America sporting regulations, the organizer reported the absence of the drivers from the podium ceremony to the stewards. Decision: Fine of $5000.”
