Brundle Lands Manor LMP1 Drive

Alex Brundle has been confirmed at Manor CEFC TRSM Racing for the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship ‘Super Season’.

The 27-year-old Briton will make his LMP1 debut in the No. 6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 Mecachrome alongside Formula 2 race winner Oliver Rowland, with the lineup’s third driver still to be announced.

Brundle raced with Jackie Chan DC Racing in LMP2 last year, finishing third overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 2016 European Le Mans Series LMP3 champion also featured on the Jota-run DC squad’s roster for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, but will switch to the Manor outfit for his primary 2018 campaign.

Brundle is set to turn laps behind the wheel of the Ginetta LMP1 this week during the official Prologue test at Paul Ricard.

“We are very happy to have Alex join the team for this season,” said Manor sporting director Graeme Lowdon.

“We have raced alongside him for a few years so have seen first hand his talents. We have been in contact for a long time so it is good to have him on board.

“It is a new challenge for us with LMP1 this year but we are looking forward to getting the season started.”

“I have been lucky enough to enjoy success at the highest level in LMP2 cars, both at Le Mans and in the WEC so I feel ready and excited to make the natural progression to LMP1.
