Bohemia Energy Racing with Scuderia Praha took a dominant win in the Hankook 12 Hours of Mugello, the opening round of the 24H Series European Championship, on Saturday.

The Czech team won by three laps after leading most of the race with its Ferrari 488 GT3 driven by Matteo Malucelli, Jiri Pisarik and Josef Kral.

It led the first 85 laps of the race, which was split into a three-hour portion on Friday and nine hours on Saturday.

It only briefly lost the lead to Barwell Motorsport after 100 laps but was soon able to move back to the front.

Barwell finished second on its season debut with its Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo shared by Phil Keen, Adrian Amstutz and Patrick Kujala, who led for a total of 28 laps.

Herberth Motorsport completed the podium with the No. 91 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Robert Renauer, Alfred Renauer, Ralf Bohn and Daniel Allemann despite starting seventh in the Saturday morning restart.

Hofor Racing took the A6-Am victory after a late-race pass for the lead from Christiaan Frankenhout to take the lead from Car Collection Motorsport’s Ingo Vogler.

Frankenhout’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished fourth overall, seven laps down on the winner, while the Car Collection Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo was a further 59 seconds behind.

This meant that five different manufacturers were represented in the top five: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes and Audi.

Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport claimed victory in GT4, coming to Mugello as reigning 24H TCE Series champion.

Its BMW M4 GT4 was shared by Thomas Jaeger, Martin Kroll, Michael Schrey, Michael Fischer and Gustav Engljaehringer.

The Bonk-run car finished almost 25 laps clear of its closest rival, PROsport Performance on its debut with the new Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

This came after a heavy accident took the MRS GT Racing BMW out of the race, although it was still ultimately classified third in class.
