ESPN to Broadcast Virtual 24H Le Mans

The ACO has announced the global viewing details for this weekend’s virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans esports event featuring real-world professional and sim racing drivers.

ESPN will lead the North American coverage with 12 hours of the race being broadcast live on ESPN2, while the whole duration will be shown on the ESPN app and website.

European audiences will be catered for by Eurosport, which plans to show the race in two and a half hour blocks on its main TV channel, as well as in full online.

The first two and a half hours will be broadcast live on TV, as well as a further two and a half hours on Saturday evening and the final two and a half hours on Sunday.

Within Europe, Sky Italia will run the whole race in Italy while French viewers will have Eurosport and France TV’s online platform as their two options. 

The event will also be shown on RTBF Auvio in Belgium, TV2 in Denmark and RTL7 in the Netherlands.

The Canadian broadcast will be provided by Discovery Velocity which is showing the race in full, as is the online motorsport network REV.

SuperSport has been named as the pan-African provider, while J Sports is set to broadcast the first and last three and a half hours live to Japanese viewers.

Eurosport will air parts of the race live for Asian-Pacific audiences, including six hours for those in Australia. 

Online coverage of the full 24 hours will be provided by Motorsport.tv, the WEC app, Eurosport Player and the 24 Hours of Le Mans YouTube channel.

The event will be fronted by a live studio presentation in Paris, featuring nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen and three-time winner Allan McNish on the commentary team.

English language commentary will also be provided by Martin Haven, Ben Constanduros and pit reporter Hayley Edmunds.

Free Practice for the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place throughout this week, leading into class-by-class qualifying on Friday at 6:15 p.m. CEST (12:15 p.m. EST).

The race itself starts at 3 p.m. CEST on Saturday, Jun. 13 and is due to finish at 3 p.m. CEST on Sunday (9 a.m. EST).
