IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge will return to Mid-Ohio after a one-year absence with a four-hour race on June 7-8.

The event features as part of a ten-race schedule that kicks off at Daytona International Speedway in January and concludes at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in October.

The Ohio venue makes its return to the calendar after a one-year absence in favor of split GS and TCR races at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix and Lime Rock Park, respectively.

It now returns as the fourth round of the championship and acts as a headline event with more series to be added at a later date.

This makes it the only event on the calendar not running in support of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

After the Roar Before the 24 on Jan. 19-21, the championship opens with the traditional four-hour season opener at Daytona International Speedway a week later.

It then heads to Sebring International Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for Rounds 2 and 3, with a second June round at Watkins Glen International on June 27-29.

Further events take place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Road America, Virginia International Raceway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Lime Rock Park, which hosted a TCR-only round last month, has been dropped from the Pilot Challenge and WeatherTech Championship calendars.

St. Petersburg Added to VP Racing SportsCar Challenge Schedule

The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge calendar, meanwhile, has seen an overhaul with two new venues as part of a six-race calendar.

The series will notably visit the streets of St. Petersburg on March 8-10, while it joins the Pilot Challenge bill at Mid-Ohio on June 7-9.

The Roar Before the Rolex 24 will see the season opener on Jan. 19-21, with CTMP, VIR and Road Atlanta completing the schedule.

Each weekend will consists of a pair of 45-minute races for the P3 and GSX classes, forming a 12-race championship that spans from January to October.
