It hasn’t taken Tim Keene very long to land back on his feet in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, as the former Ganassi team manager has been tabbed to lead efforts with another top Prototype squad.
Sportscar365 has learned that Keene will join DeltaWing Racing Cars as its new team manager. Keene, who helped take CGR to multiple DP titles and race wins, replaces motorsports veteran David Price, who rejoined the Don Panoz-owned organization in 2013.
A spokesperson for DeltaWing declined comment on this matter.
Keene was let go from Ganassi in February following a long and successful stint with the Indianapolis-based organization, which saw the team earn seven DP championships and more than 40 victories in the GRAND-AM era.
An official announcement on Keene’s appointment is believed to be set for early next month.
Having already moved back to the U.K., Price told Sportscar365 that he remains on good terms with Panoz, whom he had worked with through three different eras.
Price said he remained with the team through the beginning of this year until Panoz was able to find a suitable replacement.
Prior to his stint with DeltaWing, Price ran Gulf Racing’s efforts in the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series out of his U.K. shop and is evaluating new options in the motorsports world, while also expanding his restoration business.
While skipping next weekend’s round at Detroit, the DeltaWing will return to action for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on June 29 with drivers Katherine Legge and Gabby Chaves.
