Paul Miller Racing could walk away with multiple IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship titles following the conclusion of this weekend’s Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with both the WeatherTech Sprint Cup and full-season GTD championships pointing in the team’s favor.

Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow hold a 229-point lead over The Heart of Racing’s Roman De Angelis and Marco Sorensen heading into the final Sprint Cup race of the season on Sunday, which can award a maximum of 385 points, meaning they only need to finish 16th in class or better to lock up the title.

Similarly, the drivers of the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 have a 375-point advantage, also over De Angelis and Sorensen, in the season-long championship, with two races to go.

Pole position and a record-extending sixth class win of the season would lock up the full-season title one race early. There are also multiple other scenarios to clinch the championship at The Brickyard, as long as the No. 27 Aston Martin finishes behind them in the race.

Both Sellers and Snow are letting the results come to them instead of being caught up in the various championship-clinching scenarios in what’s been a dominant season for the duo.

“It’s been a long time since IMSA has been back to Indianapolis and I think I can say we are all very excited for the return,” Sellers said.

“It goes without saying that the speedway is a sight to see and absolutely amazing to witness. I’m looking forward to the race and hopeful for a good result.”

Snow added: “Indy is going to be a bit of a challenge for us as well as everyone else. With IMSA not having raced here in so long there will be a lot to learn throughout the weekend.

“All of us at PMR are certainly up for this challenge and hope to bring home some more hardware.”

The 2023 GTD season will likely be Sellers and Snow’s last, as they are expected to join Paul Miller Racing in the step up to the GTD Pro ranks next year.

“It’s been an amazing year, and no matter what happens in these last two races, I am so proud of what everyone here at Paul Miller Racing has accomplished,” said team owner Paul Miller.

“We still have work to do to close out these championships, but even more so, this entire team is a group of racers—we want to win.

“It won’t be easy, Indy will be a challenge for everyone since it hasn’t been on the schedule in many years. But, with a host unknowns for everyone, I know what team I would want behind me to optimize my chance at a good result.”
