Bryan Sellers will depart Paul Miller Racing at the end of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season to take on an expanded role as program manager of DXDT Racing.
Announced on Monday, the 42-year-old will stand down from racing in the WeatherTech Championship, where he scored two GTD titles for the Georgia-based squad and longtime co-driver Madison Snow.
He will instead shift his focus to an increased management role within the David Askew-owned operation, which campaigns Chevrolet Corvette Z076 GT3.Rs in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.
Sellers first joined the team as a driver in 2022 and has taken on increased management roles in recent months.
“I’m so excited to join DXDT full-time as program manager,” said Sellers. “This role allows me to continue driving at a high level while also allowing me to explore other endeavors on the business side of the sport.
“During the 2024 season I have been integrating into this role alongside David [Askew, team owner] and Erin [Gahagan, general manager] and I’m excited to build on the success we have already seen this season.”
Sellers leaves Paul Miller Racing having been a part of one of the most successful driving pairings in IMSA GTD history. Together with Snow, they captured 13 wins, of Sellers’ 20 in IMSA competition, and 37 podiums.
As part of his new role, Sellers will continue to drive in Fanatec GT America competition.
“I love the inner workings of racing programs, and it is something I have taken a lot of pride in learning about over the past 20-plus years,” he said.
“While I’m sad to be stepping away from the race team I have called home for nearly a decade at Paul Miller Racing—and I want to extend my gratitude to everyone there for their friendship and hard work—I am very grateful for this new opportunity with DXDT and beyond excited to get to work.”
Paul Miller Racing has yet to announce Sellers’ replacement in its expected WeatherTech Championship program for next year.
“We’re so proud of Bryan as he moves on to this next phase of his career,” said Paul Miller Racing team manager Mitchell Simmons.
“He’s been an integral part of this team for such a long time, and we wouldn’t have had the success we have had without him.
“But, more importantly, we wouldn’t be the team we are today without him. We will miss him terribly here at Paul Miller Racing. But, this opportunity with DXDT is one he couldn’t refuse and I can’t wait to see him succeed.”
DXDT’s Askew added: “DXDT Racing has changed and grown a lot since Bryan joined the team, and much of that has to do with him. He’s one of the quickest drivers out there, but even more importantly, he knows and understands this business like the back of his hand.
“I’ve gone to Bryan for advice on numerous occasions, and his knowledge and opinions have been invaluable as we’ve grown our operation. With the team bigger than ever and taking on new challenges this year and in the future, it just made too much sense to bring him in-house in this program manager role.
“I’m so excited about what this means for our race team, and I know between him and Erin, we’re in great hands.”
