Turner Motorsport has taken delivery of its two new BMW M6 GT3 cars that it will campaign in next year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The veteran BMW squad received the cars Friday at BMWs headquarters in Munich, prior to the German manufacturer’s annual end-of-year awards celebration, where Turner was honored as being one of BMW’s leading privateer teams.

“We are very excited about the new M6 GT3 and can’t wait to go racing with BMW Motorsport’s newest platform,” said team owner Will Turner.

Michael Marsal and Markus Palttala will return for a second consecutive season in the No. 97 Turner entry, with BMW factory driver Jens Klingmann set for a full-season campaign alongside Bret Curtis in the No. 96 car.

Curtis moves to full-time IMSA competition after a season with Turner’s BMW Z4 GT3 in Pirelli World Challenge.

“The last two years with Turner has been great and I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the blue and yellow again in 2016,” Palttala said.

In addition, 2014 DTM champion Marco Wittmann, fellow BMW factory driver Maxime Martin and BMW junior Jesse Krohn will join the team for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with the complete lineups still to be finalized.

The new Turner cars will debut in January’s Roar Before the Rolex 24.
