Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson put Wayne Taylor Racing on pole position for both Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America rounds of the weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Formal put his Pro class No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 atop the time sheets early, solidifying his pole position with the 1:23.692 lap set on his third attempt around the IMS Road Course just before a red flag delayed running one lap later.

Formal will lead an all-WTR front row in Race 1, with Trent Hindman taking the Pro-Am pole with the second-best overall time in the session, 0.578 seconds off his stablemate’s time.

TR3 Racing’s Will Bamber was third-quickest overall and second-best in Pro, ahead of WTR’s Nick Persing in fourth. Jason Hart rounded out the top five with the second-fastest Pro-Am time in his No. 67 TR3 Lamborghini.

Graham Doyle improved in his final qualifying lap to take the Am class pole for WTR to propel himself in front of the then-leading Sebastian Carazo.

Forte Racing came out on top in LB Cup with Ray Shahi taking the Race 1 pole and denying WTR a clean sweep of Q1 in the No. 65 Lamborghini.

Q2 saw Ericsson also put the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini at the top of the times, with his 1:24.379 lap besting ANSA Motorsports’ Enzo Geraci by 0.243 seconds.

Keawn Tandon put his and Al Morey’s Forty7 Motorsports Lamborghi third-quickest in Q2 ahead of Giano Taurino in fourth.

WTR’s Jackson Lee was fifth overall and on the Pro-Am pole in a class qualifying sweep for him and teammate Hindman.

Glenn McGee took Am class pole honors with the sixth-best time of the session for WTR, while Nick Groat picked up the LB Cup pole for One Motorsports.

The red flag came out with just over nine minutes remaining in Q1, after Werner Neugebauer went off course and impacted the barriers at Turn 6. Time was added onto the end of Q1 to allow drivers one final flying lap before second qualifying.

The RAFA Racing driver was stripped of his two fastest laps for bringing out the red during qualifying.

Multiple incidents prompted a red flag in Q2 as well, with an on-track incident between Antoine Comeau’s ANSA entry and Brandon Gdovic’s Pro class No. 47 PPM machine, both stopping on track before the No. 98 TR3 Racing entry of Mathieu Boucher went off at Turn 4.

Comeau was deemed to be responsible for the incident, though race control has yet to assign a penalty. Running in Q2 resumed with just over seven minutes to go.

Elias De La Torre recovered from a spin at Turn 12, though he was handed a drive-through penalty for responsibility in an on-track incident later in the session.

In the final minutes of the session, Christopher Tasca also spun and continued in the No. 66 entry.

Multiple drivers in both sessions had lap times invalidated for exceeding track limits.

Race 1 of the Super Trofeo weekend goes green at 4 p.m. EST with live coverage available on Peacock as well as Lamborghini Squadra Corse and IMSA’s YouTube channels.
