***A total of 33 cars have been entered for this weekend’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America races at Virginia International Raceway, including two additional Pro class entries in Jaden Conwright in the No. 99 NTE Sport Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 and Nate Stacy back in the top class due to driving the No. 8 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Lamborghini solo this weekend because of a scheduling conflict for Nick Persing.

***Brett Jacobson is back with Joel Miller, who moved into Pro at Road America in the No. 55 Forty7 Motorsports entry, while Tom Capizzi is driving solo in Pro-Am after his regular co-driver, John Capestro-Dubets, is recovering from a back injury sustained in an accident last time out.

***Nikko Reger, meanwhile, has rejoined Shehan Chandrasoma, who made the switch from NTE Sport to TPC Racing at Road America. Reger said: “This is kind of a last minute thing we put together with Shehan and has family and we are super excited to be with TPC Racing. I have seen the work they have done in the past. Some amazing drivers have been with the organization and we are just happy to contribute to that as well and get that championship for Shehan.”

***Neither the No. 96 TR3 Racing entry of Billy Johnson and Todd Coleman nor the No. 70 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini of Alexandre Premat and Jay Logan are present this weekend in Pro-Am, with the Am class No. 24 ANSA Motorsports entry of Ron Atapattu and Kevin Madsen also electing to skip VIR.

***Mark Brummond, meanwhile, has replaced Fred Roberts in the No. 89 NTE Sport Lamborghini in LB Cup.

***A number of teams, including Flying Lizard Motorsports, tested at the 3.27-mile circuit in recent weeks in the build-up to this weekend’s seventh and eighth rounds of the season.

***Flying Lizard program manager Darren Law said: “We are coming off a great race weekend at Road America and looking forward to VIR. We had the opportunity to test at VIR a couple of weeks ago, and the team and drivers are very comfortable here. Although this is a challenging track, it is one of the best in the U.S. and we are ready to go.”

***WTR Andretti’s Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli, which swept qualifying on Saturday morning, extended their Pro class championship lead to 35 points over Giano Taurino and Lucas Petersson of TR3 Racing, with Ryan Norman one point further behind in third. Given the current trajectory, Formal and Marcelli could clinch the title next time out at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

***Pro-Am is currently being led by NTE’s Keawn Tandon, who is again joined by Luke Berkeley this weekend, while Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee hold the lead in the Am class and Mark Wilgus with a sizable advantage in LB Cup entering this weekend.

***The first 50-minute race of the weekend gets underway at 2:35 p.m. EDT with Race 2 set for Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Both rounds will be streamed live on Peacock and IMSA.tv, featuring the IMSA Radio commentary team of Brian Till and Jeremey Shaw.

***A one-hour recap show will air on CNBC on Sun. Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
