Points Leader Priaulx Quickest in Road Atlanta Practice

Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands points leader Seb Priaulx led the way in both practice sessions for this weekend’s season-ending triple-header at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Priaulx reeled off a quick lap of 1:20.919 in his No. 15 Kelly-Moss Road & Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in Wednesday’s second 30-minute session.

It was 0.015 seconds quicker than Team Hardpoint’s Riley Dickinson, in a time that was also set in the afternoon session.

Parker Thompson set the third quickest time of the day with a 1:21.498 in his JDX Racing Porsche.

Fellow championship rival Kay van Berlo, meanwhile, had transponder issues, with the Dutchman’s times not displaying in either session.

Series debutant Leon Koehler was fourth quickest in the No. 14 MRS GT-Racing Porsche, with Sean McAllister completing the top-five overall and in the Pro class.

Pro-Am was led by the No. 99 Kelly-Moss Porsche of Alan Metni, thanks to his 1:22.816 lap time from the morning session.

It edged out title rival Efrain Castro, who drove to a 1:22.900 lap time in the No. 65 Team Hardpoint Porsche in Practice 2.

Dimitri Dimakos’s Pro-Am 991 class pace-setting 1:23.140 lap time was also set in the morning and good enough to remain atop the time sheets between the sessions combined.

While there were no incidents of note in Practice 2, the opening session came to an early end with 2 minutes on the clock due to the No. 55 Goldcrest Motorsports Porsche of Matt Halcome stopping on track.

Qualifying gets underway at 3:30 p.m. ET.
