Priaulx Claims Tenth Pole Ahead of Road Atlanta Triple-Header

Seb Priaulx picked up another five points towards his championship pursuit by taking pole for the first Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands race of the weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The Kelly-Moss Road & Race driver recorded a best lap of 1:20.678 in the 30-minute session, outpacing the sister No. 3 car of title rival Kay van Berlo by 0.162 secons.

It marked Priaulx’s tenth pole out of 14 races to date this season.

Parker Thompson will roll off from third on the grid for Race 1 of the triple-header weekend, thanks to a 1:20.994 lap time in his No. 9 JDX Racing entry, followed by Riley Dickinson’s No. 53 Team Hardpoint Porsche in fourth.

Dylan Murry completed the top-five in the No. 38 BGB Motorsports entry.

Sean McAllister qualified sixth, ahead of TJ Fischer in seventh and series debutant Leon Koehler in eighth.

Leh Keen and Max Root completed the top-ten overall.

Top qualifying honors in Pro-Am went to the No. 99 Kelly-Moss Porsche of Alan Metni, who edged out Team Hardpoint’s Efrin Castro by 0.305 seconds.

Dimitri Dimakos continued to impress in Pro-Am 991 with the class pole, qualifying an impressive 11th overall and ahead of the Pro-Am class pole-sitter in his previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

Race 1 gets underway Thursday at 12:10 p.m. ET with live coverage on PorscheCarreraCup.us and IMSA.tv featuring IMSA Radio commentary.
