BMW will be represented on the grid in next month’s Asian Le Mans Series season finale, as AAI-RSTRADA has confirmed a switch to a Z4 GT3 for the Three Hours of Sepang.
The Taiwan-based team, which sits third in the GTC teams championship heading into the Malaysian round, is vying for an automatic entry for next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans if they finish in the top-two.
After contesting the opening three rounds with a McLaren MP4-12c, drivers Jun San Chen, Takeshi Tsuchiya, and Tatsuya Tanigawa will be at the wheel of the team’s BMW, which contested last weekend’s Macau GT Cup event.
There will also be a boost to the GTE class for Sepang, with AAI-RSTRADA entering its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR alongside the Taisan Ken Endless Ferrari F458 GTE, which has been the sole representative in the ACO-spec class since the start of the season.
It’s also understood there could be an additional LMP2 car for the Dec. 5-8 event, which closes out the first season of the championship.
