Newly crowned European Le Mans Series LMP2 champions Algarve Pro Racing will add a second Oreca 07 Gibson to its Asian Le Mans Series effort, while the GT grid has been bolstered by the arrival of Attempto Racing.

As confirmed by an updated entry list revealed on Wednesday, the grid for the Asian championship has grown from 36 to 39 cars with changes in all three classes.

Algarve Pro, which was already due to run the No. 4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR entry, will now also enter the No. 25 car under its own banner, bringing the total number of cars in the class to 11.

In the GT class, Attempto Racing has been added with a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs, doubling the German manufacturer’s presence in the category after Sainteloc Racing had already committed with a pair of cars in September.

Despite Attempto’s addition, the number of cars in the GT class has remained unchanged at 23 as two teams have been removed.

Kessel Racing’s No. 57 Ferrari 296 GT3 has been withdrawn, while Viper Niza Racing changed its entry to join the LMP3 class after it was originally listed with an Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

The Malaysian squad will now field a single Ligier JS P320 Nissan in LMP3, which has seen its ranks further boosted by the addition of Czech squad Bretton Racing.

The 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series kicks off with a double header event at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit on December 2-3.
