Nicolas Lapierre will take the seat of Tristan Gommendy at Thiriet by TDS Racing in next month’s European Le Mans Series season-ending Four Hours of Estoril, it has been revealed. (En Français)

Lapierre, who scored LMP2 class victory in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with KCMG, replaces Gommendy following the fellow Frenchman’s sudden departure from the team late Sunday.

The Toyota-contracted driver will support co-drivers Pierre Thiriet and Ludovic Badey’s LMP2 title hopes, with the pairing, and team, currently sitting 10 points behind championship leaders Jota Sport heading into the title-deciding race in Portugal.

Gommendy, meanwhile, announced plans to compete in the Asian Le Mans Series season-opener at Fuji with Eurasia Motorsport in the team’s Oreca 03R Nissan.
