Ferrari has confirmed that its in-development Le Mans Hypercar will make its public debut at the manufacturer’s Finali Mondiali event later this month.
The hybrid-powered prototype, which is due to compete in next year’s FIA World Endurance Championship season, will be presented at Imola on Oct. 30 as part of Ferrari’s annual celebration which includes the final races of the Ferrari Challenge season.
A Ferrari spokesperson confirmed to Sportscar365 that the LMH presentation will include a dynamic element.
The car recently went testing in its camouflage livery at Portimao as part of the pre-homologation work ahead of a projected race debut at the 1000 Miles of Sebring in March.
A statement from Ferrari read: “The countdown is nearly over, with the LMH’s historic first public appearance set for the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 30, when the prototype will enter the pit lane at Imola and, ideally, accompany everyone present on a journey into the future.
“Indeed, the Ferrari Show will be graced by the complete unveiling of the prototype that will compete in the FIA WEC in the 2023 season.
“This new car marks Ferrari’s return to the world championship’s top class half a century after its last appearance, when the 312 PB lined up on the grid of the most famous endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
The Finali Mondiali will also include a “track performance” of the upcoming Ferrari 296 GT3, which will replace the 488 as the manufacturer’s flagship GT racing model next year.
The turbocharged V6 machine was unveiled at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa in July, but the world final event on Oct. 25-31 will mark its first dynamic outing in public.
