Timo Glock will make his return to DTM at Imola as part of a one-off entry with Italian GT squad Ceccato Racing, which is run by former series champion Roberto Ravaglia.

Guest starter Glock will be piloting a BMW M4 GT3 in the series, coming back to the series he had initially left after the conclusion of last year’s campaign.

Prior to his departure, he had been one of BMW’s longest-serving drivers in the series with 146 race starts between 2013 and 2021.

The German has experience in the M4 GT3, most notably from his current program in the Italian GT Championship, partnering with Jens Klingmann.

“The new M4 suits me well,” Glock said. “With Michelin, DTM is using a different tire from the one in the Italian championship.

“Opportunities for preparation are few because the availability of tires is very limited due to the general supply chain issues.

“The timed pit stop is a new task for the team, too. All in all, it is a huge challenge, but a great story, one to which I am really looking forward.”

The one-off entry also means that 1989 series champion Roberto Ravaglia will make his return to the series, as the Italian currently acts as the Ceccato Racing team manager.

“Being back in DTM after so many years is really exciting,” Ravaglia said.

“I know the thrill from 1989 when I won the DTM title as a driver.

“Now, I am lucky to be participating in DTM as the Ceccato Racing team manager at the legendary Imola circuit, and in the 50th anniversary year of BMW M, no less,”

The Italian squad’s one-off entry joins the regular four-car BMW fleet in the series, consisting of two cars each for Walkenhorst Motorsport and Schubert Motorsport – the latter including current championship leader Sheldon van der Linde.
