Fullwood to Make Mustang Cup Debut in Darwin

Former Supercars star Bryce Fullwood will return to his home town track, Hidden Valley Raceway, to make his debut in the Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia this weekend.

The 28-year-old Darwin native will drive for RM Racing Cars in the new-for-2026 one-make class, competing against other experienced Supercars drivers and a growing list of dynamic future stars.

Fullwood will drive for Ryan McLeod’s multi-car outfit RM Racing Cars in the team’s No. 92 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, becoming the car’s fourth driver in as many rounds to race it.

Ford Racing Driver Development Team member Cameron McLeod won Phillip Island’s opening event in the car, while Harry Bresnehan made his debut at The Bend Motorsport Park, before Dark Horse Legends entrant Patrick Neville took control of the car at Queensland Raceway.

The Mustang Cup drive marks Fullwood’s return to top level national motorsport competition after he missed out on a Supercars Championship seat this year.

Fullwood won the 2019 Super2 Series and graduated to Supercars in 2021, holding a full-time drive in the championship until the end of 2025.

During his five years at the top level, Fullwood scored three podium finishes and three top-ten results in the Bathurst 1000.

“This is a great opportunity for me to go out and have a spin on my old home ground,” said Fullwood.

“The Mustang Cup is a new, exciting category. I’ve been watching it from afar, and it looks pretty cool. I’m excited to get in, have a squirt and see what it’s all about.

“The category looks well placed for young drivers trying to climb the ranks and gain experience before moving to Super2 or other GT racing.

“They have a great slick tire, a big full-size car with decent horsepower, so you can learn many fundamentals to move forward in your career.”

A total of 13 cars are entered for the trip to the Northern Territory.

Josh Anderson leads the championship, marginally ahead of Formula Ford graduate Joe Fawcett and the category’s most successful and experienced star, Jack Perkins.

Perkins will be joined for the second-straight round by his Triple Eight team-mate Oli Wickham, who showed the entire field a clean pair of heels in his Mustang Cup debut at Queensland Raceway last month.

Track action kicks off on Friday with practice ahead of qualifying and racing on both Saturday and Sunday.

Both Saturday and Sunday’s qualifying and races will be broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo Sports for Australian residents. International viewers will be able to stream the races on Ford Racing’s YouTube channel.
