BMW has confirmed that the M2 Racing, its new-for-2026 entry level platform, will make its Nürburgring 24 debut next month with a trio of factory drivers at the wheel.

Ugo de Wilde, Jens Klingmann and Charles Weerts will share the car with experienced Nürburgring racer and motorsport journalist Michael Brautigam, with FK Performance Motorsport operating the car.

BMW officially revealed the car at the DTM season opener at Oschersleben last month ahead of a customer rollout for the 2026 season.

The N24 entry, which has been placed into the SP3T class, has been described as the “final major test” for the car after it previously competed a testing program of more than 30,000 kilometers (18,640 miles).

As part of the development trajectory, the car previously contested an NLS round last year with Klingmann and Max Hesse at the wheel.

Prior to the N24, the M2 Racing will first compete at this weekend’s Qualifiers with Weerts, de Wilde and Brautigam sharing driving duties.

“With the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the intensive test and development phase of our new entry-level car, the BMW M2 Racing, comes to an end,” said BMW head of customer racing Bjoern Lellmann.

“For one final time, our works drivers will collect data and impressions to help us deliver a car to our customers that is as well-prepared as possible.

“The Eifel endurance race is the ultimate test of strength. I’m delighted that we can also give the media the exclusive opportunity to experience the car’s performance firsthand.”
