Black Wolf Motorsport has announce plans to contest this year’s GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the Am class.

Shane Woodman and Ben Schoots will again form the driver lineup, having finished fourth in last year’s Am standings with a single win at Queensland Raceway.

The team is set to miss the the third round of the season at Queensland at the end of May, but Woodman is hopeful that consistency in the remaining five events of the six-round campaign can allow them to fight for the class title.

“Last year was our first year in GT World Challenge Australia and we learnt a lot from a driving point of view as well as from a team’s perspective,” Woodman said.

“For me, driving the Mercedes had a big difference to my time in National Sports Sedans, so it was a big learning year. However we had a lot of good support from within the team.

“There will be a lot of familiarity going into this year and a lot to build on from 2024, so our aim is to get some more podiums and hopefully win the class title.

“Obviously missing the Queensland round doesn’t help our cause and puts a bit of pressure on the team. However, I am confident that Ben and I can get some good points in the opening two rounds and finish strong.

“We had the opening round crash and managed to fight our way back into contention, so it will be a matter of being consistent and reliable at every round we’re at this year.”

The new GT Australia season begins at Phillip Island on April 4-6.
