The Maserati MC20 GT2 is set to make its GT America powered by AWS debut in this weekend’s pair of season ending races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with Risi Competizione returning to series competition.
Confirmed in the 17-car entry list, former Indy Lights and Star Mazda driver Peter Dempsey will be at the wheel of the car, which is entered in the SRO3 class.
It is the only SRO GT2-spec machine for the season finale, with Team LNT’s Ginetta GT2 for company chairman Lawrence Tomlinson not appearing as originally planned.
The SRO3 class, however, does see four entries back for action, including Mirco Schultis’ Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R, which could be making its final outing in professional competition.
Marc Muzzo is listed in the No. 013 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3, while Jon Manship is back in the No. 216 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, as well as CJ Moses’ Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo entered by Random Vandals Racing.
Single-car entries from RacingSupport (David Lecko) and Colorado Motorsport with Flying Lizard (Craig Lumsden) are entered in the Cup and GT4 categories, respectively.
All class titles are essentially wrapped up, most notably SRO3, after Memo Gidley was crowned a two-time series champion last time out at Barber Motorsports Park.
A test session is on tap for Wednesday, followed by two practice sessions on Thursday and qualifying on Friday. Race 1 is set for Saturday at 8:05 a.m. EST, with Race 2 scheduled for 11:40 a.m., with both 40-minute races to be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
