DeLong Joins Advance McLaren GT4 Effort for Road America

Toyota GR Cup North America and Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin driver Parker DeLong will make his Pirelli GT4 America debut later this month, having been confirmed in Advance Motorsports’ McLaren Artura GT4 for the Road America round.

The 17-year-old rising sports car racing star will join Austin Jurs at the wheel of the Silver class entry for the Aug. 27-29 event at the Wisconsin circuit.

“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity and to be able to compete at this level of racing,” said DeLong. “Excited to see what I can do and what I can bring to AMS.”

DeLong is the third different co-driver to join full-season pilot Jurs at the wheel of the McLaren.

Jonathan Neudorf took part in the season-opening round at Sonoma Raceway, initially putting the car on pole for Race 1, while Joseph Maley stepped in for the Sebring weekend before Neudorf returned most recently at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The team skipped the three-hour Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of The Americas in April.

“We’re excited to welcome Parker to the AMS family for Road America,” said team owner Todd Jurs.

“He’s proven himself in some of the most competitive development series in the country, and we’re looking forward to helping him take the next step into GT4 competition.

“We believe he’ll be a great fit with our team, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together throughout the weekend.”

Austin Jurs currently sits eighth in the Silver class points standings entering Road America.
