Jaxon Bell snatched pole position for the first Toyota GR Cup North America race of the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with the top three in qualifying separated by less than 0.012 seconds.

The Copeland Motorsports driver reeled off a 1:39.496 lap time in Friday’s session at The Brickyard to edge out runner-up championship contender Ethan Goulart by a mere 0.004 seconds.

Jeremey Fletcher, in the No. 22 Copeland Toyota GR86 Cup, led the early stages of the 15-minute session but was forced to settle for third, just 0.011 seconds slower than Bell’s pole time.

The No. 55 RVA Graphics Motorsport by Speed Syndicate Toyota of Spike Kohlbecker and BSI’s Westin Workman, who has already clinched the championship title, completed the top-five.

Race 1 takes the green flag on Saturday at 8:50 a.m. EST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and GRCup.com.
