Alessandro Pier Guidi will not defend his Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup title with Iron Lynx after Ferrari’s announcement of its drivers for the 2022 campaign.

Pier Guidi was a significant contributor to the Italian team’s success during the 2021 season, winning the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa alongside Nicklas Nielsen and Come Ledogar thanks to a late pass on Audi driver Dries Vanthoor at Blanchimont.

The trio subsequently went on to win the championship in the season finale at Barcelona, while Pier Guidi successfully defended his 2020 title.

Nielsen is the only driver out of the three who is set to defend his title, as Come Ledogar signed with Porsche outfit Dinamic Motorsport in January.

The Dane will team up with Pier Guidi’s FIA World Endurance GT co-champion James Calado and Miguel Molina aboard the No. 51 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020.

The sister No. 71 Ferrari will be piloted by factory aces Antonio Fuoco, Davide Rigon and Daniel Serra.

Serra is new to the lineup and replaces Callum Ilott who is focusing on his program in the NTT IndyCar Series.

Fuoco ran the entire 2021 season alongside Ilott, while Rigon started the campaign but was replaced by Alessio Rovera for the final two rounds as he recovered from injuries sustained in a crash at Spa.

Ferrari indicated last month that there would be changes to its GTWC Europe lineup as it manages a busy program for its factory drivers this year, including the testing and development of new GT3 and LMH cars.
