Two-time Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup champion Alessandro Pier Guidi will replace Daniel Serra in AF Corse’s lineup for the opening round of the new season at Monza this month.

Serra is unable to take part in the three-hour race due to clashing commitments in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, which is running at Interlagos on the same weekend.

The Brazilian driver currently leads the Stock Car standings after finishing second to Rubens Barrichello last season.

Pier Guidi, who won the 2020 and 2021 Endurance Cup titles, will step into the Francorchamps Motors-backed No. 71 Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside fellow FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar driver Antonio Fuoco and Davide Rigon.

The Italian made a cameo in the No. 71 lineup during last year’s Endurance Cup season finale at Barcelona when Serra and Rigon were busy competing at Motul Petit Le Mans.

There are no further date clashes between Endurance Cup and the Stock Car Pro Series, meaning that Serra will be able to rejoin Fuoco and Rigon for the Paul Ricard 1000km, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and the three-hour races at the Nürburgring and Barcelona.

AF Corse’s No. 51 Ferrari will be shared by Nicklas Nielsen, Alessio Rovera and Formula 1 reserve driver Robert Shwartzman, who is making his GT racing debut.

Monza marks the first GTWC Europe race for Ferrari’s new GT3 car, which replaces the 488 and has already raced in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and NLS.

AF Corse is back running the factory-supported Ferrari program in Endurance Cup after a two-year hiatus, following Iron Lynx’s switch to Lamborghini.
