Yifei Ye will make his first GT3 outing since becoming a Ferrari factory driver by joining AF Corse’s Pro lineup for this weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup round at Monza.
The Chinese racer will pilot the No. 71 Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside Thomas Neubauer and David Vidales for the three-hour race at the Temple of Speed as the Amato Ferrari-led stable shuffles its lineup as the result of a clash with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
It will mark Ye’s first GT3 appearance since signing for Ferrari and the first time he has competed in GT racing since a 2022 Asian Le Mans Series bid with Herberth Motorsport.
Vincent Abril, who has formed part of the No. 71 car’s full-season crew alongside Neubauer and Vidales at the previous rounds, has been moved to the No. 51 car instead, thus freeing up a spot for Ye.
Abril joins Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alessio Rovera in order to replace Davide Rigon in the No. 51 Ferrari, with the Italian competing at the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
