Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America will return to Sebring International Raceway for the first time in nearly a decade in 2024.
The Florida venue features as part of a five-race calendar aligned with Lamborghini’s top-class prototype effort in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship.
It will host the opening round of the championship on March 13-16, forming part of the support bill for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
It marks the first time since the 2015 World Finals that a Super Trofeo series has raced at Sebring, when it hosted that year’s World Finals event.
With a spot on the support bill for the Florida endurance classic, it allows the championship to link up with the Lamborghini SC63 GTP effort, which is expected to compete at IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events at Sebring, Watkins Glen International, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Watkins Glen and Indianapolis both feature on the calendar, while the fourth round at Circuit of The Americas pairs Super Trofeo up with the WEC’s Lone Star Le Mans event.
“It gives our Super Trofeo teams, drivers, customers and dealer guests the opportunity to follow the fortunes of the prototype program,” said Chris Ward, Lamborghini North America’s senior manager of motorsports.
“I don’t think anyone could argue that those are five of the most storied road courses in North America, so it’s very exciting.
“For all intents and purposes, we’ve sold out of cars for next year. We’ve virtually had capacity grids all this year and expect the same for next year. The series seems to be going from strength to strength.”
