Luca Ghiotto will make his return to prototype competition, joining Inter Europol Competition’s LMP2 squad in the European Le Mans Series.

The Italian racer will team up with Clement Novalak and Ollie Gray aboard the No. 34 car for the six-round European series, which kicks off at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in April.

Inter Europol’s lineup for its No. 34 machine differs from the one listed when the championship released its initial entry list in December, with Ghiotto and Gray in place of Jonathan Aberdein and the IMSA-bound Jakub Smiechowski.

Ghiotto returns to full-time racing after a year as test and reserve driver for Nissan in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Before then, he raced with Tresor by Car Collection in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and also competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the LMP2 class.

“It’s a strong lineup, and I’m super excited to join the Inter Europol Competition and teammates Clement and Ollie,” Ghiotto said.

“The European Le Mans Series is very strong, and we must all push to the maximum to be successful, and I think we will.

“I love the European circuits, they’re all mega, but I’m especially looking forward to Mugello. I can’t wait to do this race with the LMP2; it’s a track I love and perfect for these cars.

“It’s been a while since my last race; I have been keeping myself occupied with plenty of track time, but I want to compete, which makes this opportunity with IEC and ELMS much more exciting. 2024 will be great; I’m looking forward to getting back on track in Barcelona.”

Inter Europol’s second LMP2 entry will be piloted by Vlad Lomko, Tom Dillmann and Sebastian Alvarez.
