Cole Kleck inherited the victory in Race 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America round at Road America after on-track winner Callum Hedge was handed a ten-second post-race penalty.
This win marked Kleck’s first career victory in his No. 78 Topp Racing Porsche 911 Cup.
Hedge had taken the win in the caution-filled race on Friday afternoon, but was penalized for his first-lap clash with championship leader Tyler Maxson.
Maxson was forced to retire, losing valuable points in his championship battle with Hedge and Kellymoss driver Aaron Jeansonne.
The penalty dropped Hedge down to seventh position in the final Race 2 classification, handing the win to Kleck.
Janne Stiak – driver of the No. 40 ACI Motorsports Porsche – inherited second place, with Jeansonne being elevated to the podium in third.
Jared Thomas cycled up to fourth place after Hedge’s penalty, ahead of Alan Metni and Kellymoss in fifth.
John Jodoin was the only other driver to benefit from the post-race decision. His No. 39 ACI Porsche claimed sixth position in the final race results.
