BMW will officially take the wraps off its new GTE contender next week at the Frankfurt Auto Show, ahead of the car’s race debut in January’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The all-new car is set to be formally presented in BMW Motorsport colors on Tuesday, with a press conference scheduled for 4 p.m. local time.

BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt and factory driver Martin Tomczyk will be in attendance.

Having broken cover in July, the German manufacturer has put extensive mileage on the four-liter V8 twin-turbo-powered car, with multiple tests at the Lausitzring and a recent multi-day test at Barcelona.

A full-season WeatherTech Championship program is planned, while BMW Team MTEK will operate its FIA World Endurance Championship effort next year, including the manufacturer’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
