The new-look Pirelli GT4 America championship will feature a 32-car starting field for its season-opening round at Circuit of The Americas next weekend.

The grid is split between SprintX, GT4 East and GT4 West entries, which will all run concurrently in the pair of 60-minute, two-driver races.

Each series will feature Pro-Am and Am classes.

A total of ten SprintX entries are set to do battle, including the return of GMG Racing and Team Panoz Racing, which claimed the teams’ and manufacturers’ titles last year.

Jason Bell will team up with Texas native Alec Udell in the No. 2 GMG Audi R8 LMS GT4, while Preston Calvert and Matt Keegan are slated to share driving duties of the No. 51 Panoz Avezzano GT.

Other SprintX entries include efforts from Flying Lizard Motorsports, featuring the return of former team principal Seth Neiman to the wheel of the team’s new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Compass Racing team principal Karl Thomson, meanwhile, is slated to team up with Jarett Andretti in Andretti Autosport’s new McLaren 570S GT4.

Strong Grids for GT4 East, West

The majority of the GT4 America field will be made up of regional entrants, which will take part in separate five-round championships, with COTA being the only shared event.

Fourteen GT4 East cars are set to do battle along with eight GT4 West cars for the season-opener.

It includes teams such as Classic BMW (East), TRG (West), Ian Lacy Racing (West) and Park Place Motorsports (East).
