Fabio Scherer and Dylan Murry have been placed on probation by IMSA for the next four IMSA races they enter for their actions in an incident during last weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

Scherer, who was driving the No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson, and Murry in the No. 29 Racing Team Nederland entry, were determined by IMSA race director Beaux Barfield and supervisory officials Simon Hodgson, Mark Raffauf and driver advisor Johannes van Overbeek to share responsibilities for an incident that caused Jeff Westphal to crash heavily in the No. 39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

Murry and co-drivers Frits van Eerd and Giedo van der Garde went on to claim a third place class finish in LMP2, while Scherer’s High Class entry finished fourth in the category.

Both drivers are due to rejoin their respective teams for October’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.

CarBahn’s GTD class Lamborghini, meanwhile, has been withdrawn from Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix due to chassis damage from the accident.

The LMP2 class is not in action this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“IMSA will continue to monitor all on-track conduct and will act accordingly and consistently should there be a further deterioration of driving behavior,” a statement from the sanctioning body read.

“Endurance and multi-class racing is the embodiment of IMSA competition and requires mutual respect and coexistence among all competitors at all times.”
