Almost 100 cars from three championships will take part in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals at Vallelunga this weekend as the event marks its 10th anniversary.

Competitors from each of the Italian manufacturer’s regional single-make series in North America, Europe and Asia will converge for the traditional end-of-season event.

The Asian championship is returning to the World Finals for the first since 2019 after it was put on pause during the coronavirus pandemic.

The World Finals will start with the final rounds of the regional series before they come together for the races that will determine the global champions in the Pro, Pro-Am, Am and LB Cup classes.

Separate World Finals races will be held for Pro/Pro-Am and Am/LB Cup. Based on the provisional entry lists, the former will have 52 cars and the latter will have 43.

The largest regional contingent of Hankook-shod Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2s is the 51-car field from Europe. The North American and Asian series are bringing 28 and 16 cars to Italy, respectively.

In Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Guy Cosmo will join Thomas Tait in the No. 64 Flying Lizard Motorsports car, which has moved up to Pro-Am as a result.

Additionally, Motul Petit Le Mans GTD class winner Patrick Liddy is Blake MacDonald’s co-driver at US RaceTronics. The No. 171 machine previously appeared in LB Cup but is now also competing in Pro-Am.

Five of the North American entries will bid for overall World Finals honors in Pro, whereas the European series has the most cars in the top category with 16 represented.

Super Trofeo Europe held its penultimate round of the season at Vallelunga last weekend and needed to split its field into separate races for Pro/Pro-Am and Am/LB Cup because of the high numbers.

The only driver change in the European Pro field since last week is the arrival of GT4 European Series driver Marc de Fulgenico in place of Yuri Wagner at Leipert Motorsport.

Two lineups from Asia, including confirmed champions Chris van der Drift and Marco Giltrap, complete the Pro runners.

Kyle Marcelli and Danny Formal head into the North American season finale with an insurmountable lead over their Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport teammate Ryan Norman.

Formal took pole for North America Race 1 before Norman set the pace in qualifying for Race 2.

Each regional series will stage one race on Thursday and one on Friday to complete their seasons. The first North American race starts at 2:05 p.m. (8:05 a.m. ET) on Thursday.

The World Finals will then take place across Saturday and Sunday.
