Ryan Norman and Danny Formal gained valuable championship points by returning to victory lane in the second Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race of the weekend at Circuit of The Americas.

Formal drove the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to a 10.056-second win over Bryson Morris’ No. 30 ANSA Motorsports entry in Sunday morning’s 45-minute contest at the Lone Star Le Mans.

WTRAndretti co-driver Norman led from the green from pole and remained out front through the race’s only full-course caution prior to the mid-race pit stop and driver change to two-time series champion Formal.

The Costa Rican then drove a steady stint to claim his and Norman’s second victory of the season and unofficially close to within six points of the Pro championship lead.

Race 1 winner and points leader Giano Taurino was en route to finish on the podium but spun with ten minutes to go while battling with Morris for second.

It dropped Taurino to fourth in class and fifth overall, with Elias De La Torre completing the overall and Pro class podium in the No. 29 TR3 Racing entry.

Nate Stacy and Nick Persing claimed a sweep of the weekend in Pro-Am in their No. 8 WTRAndretti entry which finished fourth overall, ahead of Taurino and the No. 4 ANSA Motorsports entry of Nico Jamin.

Scott Huffaker came home seventh overall and sixth in Pro in his World Speed Lambo.

WTRAndretti teammates Glenn McGee and Anthony McIntosh also doubled up with another win in the Am class, finishing tenth overall in the 39-car starting field.

LB Cup honors, meanwhile, went to the No. 99 Topp Racing Lamborghini of Rocky T Bolduc.

The only yellow in the race came after the No 41 Flying Lizard Motorsports entry of Paul Nemschoff slammed into Mark Wilgus’ No. 50 Forte Racing Lamborghini in Turn 12 on the second lap.

Nemschoff was handed incident responsibility but his car, along with the Wilgus entry, did not continue.

RESULTS: Race 2
