Riley Dickinson survived a late-race restart to claim victory in the first Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America race of the weekend at Road America.

The Kellymoss driver took his No. 53 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to a 2.012-second win over the No. 98 JDX Racing entry of Alex Sedgwick, who recorded a career-best second place run in the severely disrupted 40-minute race.

It came after a lengthy red flag that came out on Lap 3 for accidents at the Kink for PJ Hyett and Jeff Mosing that set up a five-minute shootout to the checkered flag.

Both drivers were evaluated and released from the infield medical center although barrier repair and extensive track cleanup resulted in the lengthy delay.

Dan Clarke took third in the No. 64 Nolasport Porsche after Will Martin went wide after passing Sedgwick in Turn 3 on the restart.

Martin crossed the line fourth, with Michael Cooper completing the top-five in the No. 33 Accelerating Performance Porsche.

Thomas Sargent was sixth in the No. 17 McElrea Racing entry, followed by Jimmy Llibre.

Pro-Am class honors went to Efrin Castro in the No. 65 Kellymoss Porsche, while Scott Noble held off Mark Kvamme for the win in the Am class.

Race 2 is set for Saturday at 12:15 p.m. CDT with live coverage on PorscheCarreraCup.us and IMSA Radio.
