Ricardo Feller secured pole position for the Sunday DTM race at Zandvoort with a late flyer following a red flag in the closing minutes of the session.

Feller piloted the No. 7 ABT Sportsline Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II to a best lap of 1:33.020, beating Manthey EMA driver Thomas Preining by 0.344 seconds.

The Swiss driver claimed pole with a late flying lap, leaping to the top at the checkered flag with a last-gasp improvement following a red flag.

Alessio Deledda brought the session to halt with just under three minutes to go when he spun his No. 6 SSR Performance Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 at the Mastersbocht and needed to be recovered.

Race control then reset the clock to three minutes remaining and restarted the session, after which Feller improved from fourth place to claim his first pole of the season.

Maro Engel qualified third aboard the No. 48 Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, with Patric Niederhauser jumping up to fourth place ahead of the No. 75 KÜS Team Bernhard Porsche 911 GT3 R of Laurin Heinrich.

Luca Stolz slotted into sixth place, ahead of Marco Wittmann, Ayhancan Guven and Dennis Olsen.

Kelvin van der Linde completed the top three aboard the No. 3 ABT Sportsline Audi, ahead of Albert Costa and Christian Engelhart.

Engelhart spun his No. 99 Toksport WRT on the exit of Turn 13 on his final lap, but suffered no damage.

The second and final DTM race of the weekend starts at 1:30 p.m. CEST (7:30 a.m. ET).
