Wright Motorsports drivers Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson are looking to carry momentum gained from last month’s Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season opener at Sonoma Raceway, as well as the recent Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, into this weekend’s rounds on the Florida airfield circuit.

The Wright Motorsports duo, in their Fanatec GT America Pro class debut, swept the Sonoma weekend in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, and hold a 14-point lead over ST Racing’s Bill Auberlen and Varun Choksey heading into the third and fourth rounds of the season.

Additionally, Skeer and Adelson return to the site of a GTD class podium finish in the Twelve Hours of Sebring, teamed with longtime Wright driver Jan Heylen.

“I cannot think of greater momentum to carry into GT World Challenge America at Sebring than our strong performance in the 12 Hour and our season opener at Sonoma,” said Skeer.

“Our team at Wright is firing on all six cylinders, giving us an incredible Porsche time and time again.

“Adam is driving at a level above this season and cannot wait to see how he performs once again.”

With additional competition arriving in the class this weekend, with the return of RS1’s Porsche for the new pairing of Trent Hindman and Spencer Pumpelly, which will be followed up with a second DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R at Circuit of The Americas, the Pro ranks is expected to gain even more attention.

Adelson is only in his second year of GT3 competition, having graduated from the GT4 and Porsche Carrera Cup North America ranks.

“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Sebring,” he said. “We already have had massive success there this year, so I think it’s safe to say we’re all feeling great about our chances for good results.

“In addition, we’re coming off quite the season opener for us at Sonoma, and it’s important for us to keep the momentum up and build on that success.”

Team owner John Wright echoed Skeer and Adelson’s comments in the team’s return to Sebring, less than two months after their third place finish in the around-the-clock endurance classic.

“We’ve kicked off the 2024 season on a high note at Sonoma Raceway and are poised to maintain that level of performance this weekend at Sebring,” said Wright.

“Thanks to the continued consistency of our drivers and crew, we approach this weekend with the points lead. With our past successes at Sebring, we’re aiming to extend our lead further by the end of the weekend.”
