KohR Motorsports has confirmed that its race-winning duo of Kyle Marcelli and Nate Stacy will return to IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition this year.

Marcelli and Stacy, who combined for three victories and a runner-up finish in the GS class championship in 2018, will be back in the team’s lead No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4.

It is the first full-season Mustang GT4 entry confirmed for Pilot Challenge competition.

Marcelli feels the team has “unfinished business” left after missing out on the drivers’ championship.

“Although 2018 was a fantastic season, earning three victories, winning the manufactures championship and finishing runner up in the driver and team championships, we know that we left a few good results slip through the cracks,” he said.

“The Ford Mustang GT4 is a solid platform for the category and a lot of fun to race. I expect the continuity of returning to the series with the same package should net us some good results this year.”

Stacy added: “This season the main focus will be less on the car, and more the strategy. I’m beyond ready to get the 2019 season rolling.”

The Michigan-based team will start the season with two Mustang GT4s, with Kenny Wilden, Rod Randall and DJ Randall confirmed in the sister entry for at least the first half of the season.

Team principal Dean Martin told Sportscar365 that a third entry is also possible at selected rounds.

“Kyle Marcelli is as solid as they come behind the wheel. Nate Stacy is more mature and more focused now than he ever has been,” Martin said.

“We know the Ford Mustang GT4 very well after racing it for two full seasons, so we are more focused on the team process and performance in the pits.”
