Conor Daly held off Corey Lewis to claim victory in the first Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race of the weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Daly took his No. 46 PPM Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo to a 1.825-second win over Pro class championship leader Lewis, to claim his second victory of the season.

While starting from pole and leading early on in the hands of Richard Antinucci, the No. 29 Change Racing Lamborghini lost the lead during the round of mid-race pit stops, with Daly emerging out front.

The IndyCar driver shared driving duties with Brandon Gdovic, who was victorious last time out at Virginia International Raceway.

Andrea Amici and Sandy Mitchell completed the overall and Pro class podium in third, in their No. 1 Prestige Performance/Wayne Taylor Racing entry, with the Italian benefitting from an off-course excursion by Cedric Sbirrazzuoli that relegated the No. 27 Dream Racing Lamborghini to fourth.

James Sofronas celebrated his return to Super Trofeo competition with the Am class win and fifth place overall result.

The GMG Racing team owner/driver finished 16 seconds ahead of the No. 6 US RaceTronics entry of Steven Aghakhani, who ran as high as fourth overall in the early stages of the 50-minute race.

Aghakhani, however, slipped back after surviving a half-spin with 15 minutes to go, which put him under attack by Sofronas, who got around the 16-year-old for the class lead on Lap 24.

The No. 09 US RaceTronics Lamborghini of Damon Ockey and Jake Eidson claimed Pro-Am class honors with a sixth place overall finish, ahead of Aghakhani, who faded to seventh overall at the checkered flag.

LB Cup class honors came down to the final corner of the final lap, with Justin Price holding off Ashton Harrison for the win.

Price again shared driving duties of the No. 22 Dream Racing Lamborghini with Supercross star Chad Reed.

Race 2 of the weekend is set for Sunday at 9:25 a.m. PDT, with live coverage on IMSA.tv.
