Racers Edge Motorsports has claimed a sweep of the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS weekend at Road America, with Trent Hindman and Shelby Blackstock taking a commanding win in Race 2 on Sunday.

Blackstock drove the No. 93 Acura NSX GT3 Evo to a 21.276-second win over the No. 33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Indy Dontje, who came from fifth in the field to finish second.

Dontje got around the No. 20 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Fred Poordad with 20 minutes to go in the 90-minute race.

Up front it marked Hindman and Blackstock’s third consecutive overall win, in another flawless run.

The No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of George Kurtz and Colin Braun finished third overall and took top class honors in GT3 Pro-Am.

It was enough to put Braun and Kurtz back into the championship lead after a tough race for the Squadra Corse duo of Rodrigo Baptista and Martin Fuentes, who finished fifth.

David Askew and pole-sitter Ryan Dalziel came home fourth overall, with Poordad and Max Root, who impressed in his opening stint against Dalziel, fading to sixth in the end.

Issa Takes Sports Club Win

Mark Issa claimed overall honors in the GT Sports Club America race in his TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3.

Issa passed Saturday’s race-winning 311RS Motorsport Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport of Ryan Gates with ten minutes remaining in the 40-minute sprint contest to take the victory.

He finished 7.641 seconds ahead of Gates, who had the highest-placed GT2 car.

The No. 57 GMG Racing Porsche of Stu Frederick came home third overall and first in the Iron class for drivers over the age of 60.

Jason Bell, competing in his seventh of eight races this weekend, brought up the rear of the four-car field.
