Comtoyou Racing has announced a Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup driver lineup comprising three factory Aston Martin drivers.

The Belgian squad, which announced a switch from Audi to Aston machinery last September, will have the services of Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen and Mattia Drudi at its disposal for the five-round season beginning at Paul Ricard in April.

Thiim, Sorensen and Drudi will share the team’s Pro class Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo entry, the No. 007 car, with the remaining drivers to be announced at a later date.

“I am delighted to be competing in this championship, which is undoubtedly the toughest in the world of GT3 racing, with a large number of line-ups made up of official drivers,” commented Thiim.

“The Comtoyou Racing team has motivated me enormously and I am looking forward to starting the season with them.”

Sorensen added: “I am convinced that we can put in some great performances with this Comtoyou Racing team. I am eagerly awaiting the start of the season.

“With the arrival of the new car, we all have much to learn: the team, the engineers, the drivers and so on. But I am sure we will all enjoy working together. Comtoyou has already proved its qualities as a team and we are highly motivated.”

Aston newcomer Drudi raced in Fanatec GT Europe last year for the Tresor Orange1 Audi team, winning the Sprint Cup title alongside Ricardo Feller.

“I am really looking forward to my first season as an official Aston Martin Racing driver,” said the Italian. “And to share the car with such fast and experienced team-mates as Nicki and Marco is an honor.

“In 2023, I witnessed Comtoyou’s GT debut as an opponent and they immediately demonstrated their potential. With the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3, I think we can have great ambitions.

“We have a busy month ahead of us with a great deal of testing, but I am confident that we will be ready for the first race of the season.”
